Recycle for Sight

Recycle for Sight is a Lions project which involves collecting discarded spectacles and sun glasses from local opticians and distributing them to developing countires.

A Norwood Lions Club member visits our local collection outlets every 2-3 months to collect the glasses. We then wrap them in newspaper and post them off to the Lions Eyeglass Recycling Centre in QLD. There the glasses are cleaned, graded and distributed to our international partners.

Since 2012 Norwood Lions has collected over 2,000 discarded glasses - that's over 2,000 children and adults who have been given the gift of improved sight thanks to something as simple as a pair of recycled glasses.
